Mapping the City @ Juice 2016

In October we’re taking part in the Juice Festival 2016.

We are running two interconnected events:

1. Mapping the City Exhibition – The Atrium at Newcastle City Library, Saturday 22 Oct 2016 – Friday 28 Oct 2016

Come and see the how young people see Newcastle and Gateshead. We’ve used the work produced during workshops with young people across the city to make an atlas. You’ll see: a completely different version of the city where the importance of friends and family trumps historical buildings; journeys which meander streets, continents and the unknown; and the influence of online and fantasy worlds on young people’s visions of where they live

2. Becoming a Cartographer Workshops – Room 4 at Newcastle City Library (just off the Children’s section)

Join us to map your city. Forget the boring places your parents take you to, create your own map of the city. Erase places you don’t like, highlight what you treasure the most, and add new parts to your version of NewcastleGateshead.

We’re running three workshops (all free):

Monday 24 Oct, 14.00 – 15.30: 9-14 year olds

Wednesday 26th October, 10.30 – 12.00: 9-14 year olds

Friday 28th October, 14.30 – 16.00  15-18 year olds

Follow the link here to book, places are limited.

If you want a poster to advertise the exhibition snap workshops, there is one poster (.pdf 1mb).
